What can I do on the Yale Johnson website?The Yale Digital Edition of the Works of Samuel Johnson allows you to search, browse and view entries from the Volumes of Samuel Johnson series. Once an entry is accessed, you can highlight, take notes and share your thoughts with other users about the entry. Adding tags to the entry will help the whole community of users discover your favorite selections. To learn more about how to use the Yale Johnson website, go to the "User Guide" section of the site. Is the Yale Johnson website the same as the print volumes?The Yale Digital Edition of the Works of Samuel Johnson contains the entire content from the print volumes, divided into discrete units, such as poems, journal entries, sermons, etc... Can I share with a classroom?Yes, we encourage you to use the Yale Johnson website with your students. Please review the Why do I need to login to access the tags, annotations, etc...?Although access to the Volumes is free, we require that all users sign in to use tags, annotations, and the My YDJ Collection section. We do this to ensure that all users are respectful of the content and other users whose notes and comments can be displayed publicly. Can I change my password?You can change your email and password for the "Log In" page that will give you access to the "My YDJ" area of the Yale Johnson site by going to the "Manage Profile" link at the top right of the website header. Please note that you will continue to need the username and password you originally received when you registered in order to enter the secure site.
